Postgres-BDR®
Advanced Clustering & Scaling for PostgreSQL
BDR from 2ndQuadrant presents true high availability for mission critical databases running on PostgreSQL across various industry verticals such as financial services, telecommunications, and more. BDR presents up to six 9s of availability and allows flexible deployment options depending on budget, internal resources, access to hardware, and more.

BDR Features
AlwaysOn Availability
BDR provides up to 99.9999% (six 9s) availability for your PostgreSQL databases. BDR achieves true high availability with rapid switchover and rolling upgrades for database and schemas.
Worldwide Clusters
BDR supports geographically distributed clusters without any limitations on distance and includes the ability for geo-fencing. It is designed to minimize latency across nodes.
Cloud Native
BDR is designed ground up for cloud deployments. Using the self-healing Kubernetes operator you can quickly deploy BDR in trusted configurations with very high availability.
Multi-Master Replication
Multi-Master Replication in BDR allows efficient replication for both DDL and DML with automatic conflict resolution. It also offers Conflict-free Replicated Data Types (CRDTs) which support merging values from concurrently modified rows.
Feature of the Month: Geo-fencing
BDR supports Geo-fencing, allowing you to selectively replicate data for security compliance and jurisdiction control, as well as providing performance improvements. Read more about this and other BDR features in the whitepaper.

Training
2ndQuadrant offers a variety of courses to improve understanding and practical knowledge of PostgreSQL. Courses are available online, in-person, or on-site for teams.
BDR
This course covers the basic concepts of Bi-Directional Replication for PostgreSQL. This one-day training covers areas such as setting up geographically distributed clusters, using highly efficient asynchronous logical replication, and exploring deployment options for Postgres-BDR® databases.
Introduction to PostgreSQL and Kubernetes
This course introduces the concept of containerization using Kubernetes, an open source orchestration platform. The purpose of this course is to make users familiar with the concept of immutable infrastructure and the self-healing capabilities of Kubernetes when using PostgreSQL.
