Announcing the Release of Barman v2.12
Oxford, United Kingdom – November 5, 2020
2ndQuadrant is proud to announce the release of Barman version 2.12.
Barman (Backup and Recovery Manager) is an open source administration tool that allows the implementation of disaster recovery solutions for PostgreSQL databases with high business continuity requirements. Barman performs remote backups of multiple servers in business-critical environments, maintains a backup catalog, and helps DBAs during the recovery phase.
This release introduces a new backup_method option called local-rsync. This feature targets the cases where Barman is installed on the same server where PostgreSQL is. It directly uses rsync to take base backups, bypassing the SSH layer.
Minor bugs have also been fixed.
Release notes are now available along with a complete list of changes and bug fixes.
Download and installation instructions can be found here.
Source files are available for download.
Barman is developed and maintained by 2ndQuadrant and distributed under GPL v3.
